Blueberry Overcome High Blood Pressure

 


Researchers from the University of East Anglia and Harvard University found thatblueberries may help fight high blood pressure or hypertension, according to Zee Newsdelivered on Saturday (15/12).


The research results indicate that bioactive compounds known as Anthocyanins are flavonoids that play an important role in dealing with hypertension. The researchers say those who eat blueberries on a regular basis can to stabilize high blood pressure up to 10%..


In this study, approximately 181 thousand people were asked to fill out a questionnaire containing questions about their health condition during the past two years as well as their diet for four years past. Found by those who obtain a high flavonoid intake have a fairly stable blood pressure when compared to those who do not.


The researchers also found that the content of flavonoids in blueberries ranked highestin the "kingdom" of fruit. Even the levels in blueberry falavonoid also beat tea that is rich in these substances.


"What's interesting about this research is the content of anthocyanins was so largecontribute to the prevention of hypertension," said Prof Aedin Cassidy, who becameleader of the study.
